With more and more services into Newquay Airport, flying in is one of the best and certainly the fastest way to get to St Ives. It can also be incredibly cheap if you get a good deal on your ticket. The Air Travel section has details of the daily flights coming into Cornwall from London Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Durham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin and Cork. The airport is around a 40 minute drive from town. This section also has details of local flights to the Isles of Scilly.
Mainline train services run into Cornwall from London via Bristol or Exeter. Also cross country from Newcastle via Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Connecting services then run into St Ives from St Erth station. The Trains section has details.
Another option is to travel in by coach, National Express run services from around the country into St Ives, to the bus station at The Malakoff in the centre of town. Also details of day trips by coach to attractions such as Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Minack Theatre.
Local Taxi services are available to bring you into town from the station or airport. We would strongly advise you to book these in advance as there are often limited numbers and long queues when your train or plane arrives.
