St Ives Cornwall - Handmade - Buy Online

This section of the shop has handmade arts and crafts by St Ives craftspeople and artists.

All of these are members of the Made In Cornwall Scheme which accredits producers and guarantees that all goods are genuinely made here. The scheme is run by Cornwall County Council - see below for more details.

You'll find a profile of each below from which you can access their galleries and buy online - or use the links on the left. All of them work in and around St Ives and have their galleries and studios here.

We also have details of the Made In Cornwall fairs that run in St Ives every three months or so.

All items are supplied direct from the artists and are personally produced by them. You can buy securely online with PayPal or your debit / credit card.

At present we have only a sample of work from each artist - much more will be added soon, plus more featured artists, so please do come back.

Please get in touch if you can't find what you want - we can contact the artists direct. They have other work for sale and can also undertake commissions. Trade enquiries from shops and galleries are most welcome.

  Made in Cornwall Scheme
Cornwall has always had a rich seam of artistic talent, craftmanship and creativity long associated with quality. In 1991 Cornwall County Council's Trading Standards Department recognised the concerns of consumers who had bought so called "Cornish" products, only to find that they were produced elsewhere, and set up one of the first Approved Origin Schemes in the country.

The "Made In Cornwall" approved origin scheme ensures that there is distinctive identity for all things assessed as being made or produced in the County. If you look for the "engine house" or "Made In Cornwall" logo you know you have found the genuine article.

All products are assessed against stringent criteria set by the Trading Standards Service before prospective members are invited to join the scheme. The huge popularity of locally made products, which are not massed produced, has prompted many artists and craftspeople to support the scheme and from small beginnings there are now nearly 1000 members.
