St Ives - Bus and Coach Services

Local Bus Services
Buses within and around town, to the schools, holiday parks and car parks depart from Royal Square. This is opposite the Western Hotel and the Royal Cinema.

Buses between St Ives and other local towns such as Penzance, Camborne, Redruth and Truro depart from the bus station which is next to the entrance to the railway station car park.

Local firm Oates Travel run excursions to a variety of destinations, plus a regular shopping trip coach to Truro. Further details of their services are also below.

Bus services between St Ives and other local towns are operated by Western Greyhound and First Group. Timetables and more information are on their websites.

Cross-country routes are operated by National Express Coaches. You can get a connecting service from most cities in the UK to Exeter or Plymouth, then travel straight on into St Ives.

Local Coach Services - Oates Travel
Oates Travel offer a range of day trips and tours from their base in town. These include Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Minack Theatre and Tintagel.

This is a great way to get to these attractions, particularly as some trips include your entry ticket so that you can avoid the queues.

With a fleet of modern vehicles from 8 to 49 seaters, they also offer a range of other services - coach hire, port and airport transfers, incoming tour organisation and coach holidays throughout the UK and Europe.

   
Local Bus Services - Western Greyhound
A local independent bus and coach company who run bus services, coach day trips and offer a private hire service.

They run a bus service (route 501) along the north coast from Newquay to St Ives, via Hendra Holiday Park, Perranporth, Hayle and several other stops. This might be particularly useful if you are staying out of town but want a day in St Ives.

   
National Coach Services
Coaches run regularly to and from town from destinations all over the UK, operated by National Express. These arrive at and depart from the bus station next to the railway station (see above).
