St Ives - Shopping

St Ives Beef
Based at Trevalgan Farm, a small family farm which lies on the cliffs just outside St. Ives. All their free range, traditionally reared cattle are born and raised within 4 miles of St. Ives. During their life at Trevalgan they roam freely and graze naturally on grass and home grown forage crops.

This means Trevalgan cattle produce some of the tastiest, most succulent beef you will ever taste.

They run a Box Scheme and can deliver to your home or holiday cottage. Your box will contain a selection of tender, succulent cuts of meat all especially selected. You can order any weight you wish from 3kg upwards.

If you would like more information, prices or to purchase from St. Ives Beef please contact them via the website (link below).

St Ives - Video

St Ives - Hurricane Gordon - 21st September 2006
Filmed an edited by Anna Chen with a wonderful soundtrack, this shows views of the town as the tail end of the hurricane hits.

Some great shots of the harbour and beaches as the storm waves come crashing in. You'll be pleased to know that St Ives survived pretty much unscathed.

  St Ives - Churches

  Church of the Vine
Local Elim Church, all are most welcome. They meet at St Ives Infants School every Sunday at 10.30 and at Hellesveor Chapel at 18.30. They also meet during the week at members' homes and other venues - see their website for details.

The church is raising funds for a new church and community centre in St Ives. They need to raise more than £1M and have set up a website to raise funds, where you can buy a "Piece of St Ives".

  St Ives - Sports Clubs

  St Ives Sailing Club
The club is based near St Ives Harbour and they sail through the spring and summer on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

They have a boat pen at the back of the Sloop car park. They have basic changing facilities in the hut there and on sailing days they also enjoy use of the Shamrock Lodge on the Wharf which is a great place to swap tales of adventure at sea over a mug of tea or coffee.

Whilst the primary activity of the club is racing, they set aside a number of days each year for 'Fun' sailing, when they can take friends and family out into the bay - and try to find some dolphins!

As serious as the racing sometimes gets, they are essentially a small and friendly club, and visitors are always welcome. If you are already a sailor, holidaying in the area and wish to bring your boat, please come and join them on race days. They can sometimes find space in the pen for an extra boat or so, and like racing against new faces (unless you're too fast!).

  St Ives Cricket Club
They currently have three teams that play in the Cornwall Cricket Leagues. Home matches are played at St Ives School.

Their website has details of teams, fixtures, match statistics and the latest club news.

They are seeking matchball sponsors for this season, in particular to fund their programme to develop young players. This costs just £25.00 and the club are offering an excellent sponsorship package. Contact Dave Noall on 01209 217832 for more details, or see their website.
