One of the many things that I love about St Ives is the weather.
On a warm sunny day when we get that special "quality of light" this must be one of the best places to be in the world.
Even when its cold and rainy I say to myself "well ...... there are worse places to be cold and wet than this".
On the whole its pretty mild here - I think I've only seen one frost since I moved here.
We do get a fair bit of rain, sweeping in from the Atlantic. But one great thing about St Ives is that it rarely persists. If its rainy in the morning there is a good chance that it will be fine by the afternoon.
Occasionally we'll also get a "mizzle" coming in from the sea, which I find quite atmospheric as the higher parts of town disappear from sight in the mist.
The best thing that you can do here is simply - be prepared for anything. Whatever is happening weather-wise chances are that it will soon change. |
